QUALITIES: This is a beautifully rich oil. In the cold it may turn thick and cloudy, so may need gentle warming. Keeps well. Contains vitamins A, B + D and is rich in lecithin. Excellent for dry or ageing skin, as it penetrates the upper layer well and is very emollient It also helps to protect the skin against the damaging effects of the sun. Use up to 25% in a basic carrier such as almond or Grapeseed oil. Not to be confused with commercially refined avocado oil.

A member of the Lauraceae family, the avocado is the fruit of a tall tropical and subtropical evergreen tree. The fruit was eaten by the Aztecs and Spanish in the early sixteenth century. It became popular in the early twentieth century when cultivation started in the USA. The vitamin A and B content are good for the nervous system.

All oils should be kept out of eyes. Do not put on top eye lid as this may run into eyes. You should be able to use at 100% unless you are sensitive.
